SZA Wears Custom Jagua Art to Paris Fashion Week
SZA at Paris Fashion Week: Jagua Art by Neha Assar
Paris Fashion Week is a space where fashion, art, and cultural expression intersect at the highest level. For the Dior show during Paris Fashion Week 2026, SZA appeared with custom jagua artwork adorning her hands and feet as a visual extension of her presence, her style, and the moment itself.
The jagua designs were created by Neha Assar as a custom body art concept, designed specifically for SZA’s appearance during the show. Using jagua, a plant-based, deep indigo body stain, the artwork was developed to complement both the movement of the body and the overall aesthetic of the look.

The Artwork
Jagua offers a unique medium that is bold yet temporary and intricate yet fluid. For this design, the focus was on balance. Both hands were adorned with rotational symmetry of the same motif. The feet were freehand mirrored and heavily adorned from the upper ankles downward with temple shaped designs which elongate the feet. Negative space, organic flow, and placement were key factors to ensure the artwork would photograph beautifully in motion and under various lighting exposures. Hands and feet were treated as extensions of the silhouette, allowing the artwork to feel intentional rather than ornamental.
Each element was designed to enhance SZA’s natural movement and presence, creating a visual language that felt grounded, modern, and quietly powerful.

From Studio to Paris
This work is part of Neha Assar’s ongoing exploration of body art as a wearable, cultural, and editorial medium. While henna and jagua are traditionally associated with ceremony, this moment reflects how these art forms continue to evolve and exist seamlessly within contemporary fashion spaces.
Seeing the artwork appear at Paris Fashion Week, captured through video and photography from the Dior show, underscores the growing recognition of body art as an integral part of fashion storytelling.

The Moment
Below is footage and imagery from the Dior show, where SZA’s jagua artwork can be seen in detail — from close-ups of her hands to movement shots that highlight how the designs lived on the body throughout the event.

Looking Ahead
Moments like this affirm the power of cultural art forms when placed in global fashion contexts. Body art does not exist separately from fashion. It moves with it, shapes it, and adds depth to the story being told.
